Musa Red Sea miracle: Musa’s Ashura Story for Kids

“Mom… what really happened on Ashura?”
Zayd asked this as he looked up from his plate. He had heard about fasting, but didn’t really get it.
His mom smiled, “Let me tell you the amazing story of the Musa Red Sea miracle — a day when truth defeated tyranny.”

🧒🏽 A Kid-Friendly Retelling of Prophet Musa and the Red Sea

Once upon a time, there was a powerful king named Pharaoh. He was unfair and mean, hurt the people who believed in Allah. and he made them work like slaves. But Allah sent someone special to help them — Prophet Musa (AS).

Musa (AS) told Pharaoh:
“Let my people go!”
But Pharaoh refused. He thought he was the most powerful. So Allah gave Musa (AS) many signs. But Pharaoh didn’t listen.

Finally, Allah told Musa (AS) to take his people and leave Egypt.

They walked, and walked, and walked… until they reached the sea.

But behind them — Pharaoh and his soldiers were coming fast!
In front of them — a huge sea!

The people panicked.
“Now what do we do?!” they cried.

But Musa (AS) said calmly,

“Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me.”
(📖 Surah Ash-Shu‘ara, 26:62)

Then Allah did something miraculous.

🌊 The sea SPLIT!

Walls of water stood tall on both sides, and a golden path appeared in the middle. Prophet Musa and his people walked safely through the sea.

Pharaoh tried to follow…
But the sea crashed down on him.
Allah saved the people of truth.

💡 What Kids Learn from This Ashura Story

Ashura isn’t just about fasting. It’s about remembering how Allah helps those who trust Him — even when things look scary or impossible.

Even if someone looks powerful like Pharaoh…
Truth and patience always win in the end.
