🎯 Game Objective

Kids identify Tajweed rules from Quranic phrases using clue cards and visual hints. The goal? Become a certified “Tajweed Detective” by solving enough Quran-based cases!

🗂️ What You’ll Need

  • Printable Tajweed Clue Cards (get your free set below)
  • List of practice phrases from the Qur’an
  • A whiteboard or chart to mark clues and rules
  • Optional: Magnifying glass prop, sticker badges, timer

📜 Step-by-Step Instructions

✅ Step 1: Introduce the Mission

Tell students: “Today, you’re Tajweed Detectives! Your job? Solve the mystery of what Tajweed rule is being used in this ayah.”

✅ Step 2: Draw a Clue Card

Each card shows a Quranic phrase with a target section (e.g., من بعد, قَدْ أَفْلَحَ).

Let the child read the phrase aloud and underline or circle the section they think is a Tajweed rule.

✅ Step 3: Investigate the Clue

Give hints:

  • “Is the sound merging into the next word?” → Might be Idgham
  • “Is it slightly nasal?” → Maybe Ikhfaa
  • “Is there a bounce?” → Could be Qalqalah

✅ Step 4: Solve and Explain

The student guesses the rule and explains why (with your help if needed).
If correct → they earn a Tajweed Detective Badge or sticker!
If incorrect → give a second chance or reveal the “case file” (explanation card).

✅ Step 5: Review and Reflect

Group rules under their letter categories (e.g., letters of Ikhfaa, Idgham with Ghunnah). Repeat with new cards next session!

🌟 Suggested Surahs for Practice

Great beginner-friendly surahs that include examples of multiple rules:

  • Surah Al-Fatihah
  • Surah Al-Ikhlas
  • Surah An-Nas
  • Surah Al-Falaq
  • Surah Al-Qadr

These are short, familiar, and rich with Tajweed clues!

📚 Final Thoughts: Learning Tajweed the Fun Way

By making Tajweed feel like a game, we move from rote learning to active discovery. When a child says “I found Idgham in that ayah!”—you know something clicked deeper than rules.

So grab your clue cards, power up your thinking caps, and start your Qur’an mystery mission. 🕵️‍♂️✨
